To access Winword. Once the above mentioned steps are completed you may check if Office application works fine. Once the uninstallation is completed you may use the installation source file and the product key to reinstall Office on the computer and check if it works fine. I hope it helps.

I bought office professional plus over a year ago and have been using all the products fine so far. Thanks for posting this. I have been trying to fix this on a couple Win10 Ent machines and nothing works, until I found this. I had been running system restore and delaying Windows Feature update, and it eventually re-installs.

The reason for the popup is due to the 20H2 build update changing user permissions to MS Office. It is unclear why MS didn't catch that. I am sure there are a number of reasons why. Regarding the fix, it only grants MS Office permissions for users nothing else.

If you are experiencing other permissions issues. You may need to look further into the other issues and what is causing them. Computers, If its not one thing, its another. Hi, thanks for the quick response. At this time we've not encountered many of these issues during our company wide update, so not every update has had this issue. As I said, my only concern is that some other permission has been modified along with this but we have yet to find it, it is a concern at the moment, we've not had any other issue with Office and the 20H2 update to date.

The details above do not explain the change, if I could understand the process that changed the permissions I would feel a lot better rolling out this feature update.
